Maureen Mayne-Nicholls is a visual artist, documentary, researcher and photographer, born in Valparaíso in 1981. She has a degree in Arts from the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Valparaíso.
She has carried out various visual investigations in the field of dance and devotion to Latin American popular festivities, visiting places such as Bolivia, Brazil, Peru and the north of Chile. This research results in a photographic intervention work which has participated in exhibitions in Santiago, Valparaíso, Puerto Montt, Antofagasta and Iquique. It has also evolved into a development of documentary work that is currently in the editing and post-production process.
In the field, she is dedicated to the recording of performing arts such as dance, music, theater and circus festivals, the development of photographic books for artists and also personal creations in the field of Video Dance. She is a photographer for different dance companies and art collectives such as "Destiempo Company", contemporary dance, Valparaíso, "Viña del Mar Contemporary Dance Company", "Bajo Cero Art Collective", Valparaíso and today a photographer of the Company " Hilo Rojo ”from Valparaíso.
