Carol Conteras

COSTUME DESIGNER

Carol Contreras Caceres was born in Santiago de Chile in 1984. She studied Costume Design at the Paulina Diard professional institute in Santiago de Chile between the years 2013-2015. In 2014 she worked in the stage art process of the play "La Expulsión de los Jesuitas" by the Tryo Banda Theatre Company. In this process she worked in the repair and manufacture of costumes. Between 2014-2018 she worked in the stage art processes "The Imagination of the Future" and "Trying to Make a Work that Changes the World" of the theater company "La Resentida", in which she creates the costumes and the scenographic elements. In 2017 she began to work with the "Hilo Rojo" Dance Company in which to date she works as a costume designer and dressmaker. So far she has worked in the wardrobes for "Widows of the Sea”, "Hypotonic" and "Gravitate".

In 2018 she worked with the "Salvador Bandera Company’ in the play ‘Comics of the port adapted to street theater" making the costumes. In 2019 she worked with the puppet company Warepeuma, in the art design for "Los Guachimanes" where she made the design, the costumes and the scenographic materials. During 2019 she worked as an assistant to the "Textile Art Workshop" within the CEPA Program, Universidad Católica de Chile. Santiago, Chile.

In 2020 she works with the singer-songwriter Antonio San Martin together with the director and filmmaker Matías Pinochet in the realization of two video clips, of the songs “I'm going to ruin it” and “I'm going”, in the town of Pichilemu, Cáhuil, where she creates the design and costume making. She is currently working in the costumes for the new works by Cia Hilo Rojo 'Thimbles' and 'Latency'.
