Fernando Charanguito is a musician, drummer, percussionist and charanguist born in Valparaíso, with almost 40 years of experience with music studies at the Universidad Católica de Valparaíso, among others. He is a Celeven artist in Charango, participating in meetings and festivals of this instrument in Peru, Mexico, Ecuador, Argentina and Chile. At the same time, he is a musician and compiler in different carnivals and religious-pagan festivals in central and northern Chile, in Bolivia and Peru.
He is and has been a musician of different musical and artistic proposals in general, from the Chilean national medium such as: Urban Transport, Latin Quarter, Marco Andreu, Quique Cruz, Coro Corporación Municipal de Valparaíso, Charangos del Puerto, Sexual Democracia and Mauricio Celedón, among others . At the same time, he works as director, instrumentalist and composer of the Andean folk brass band "La Bandalismo" from Valparaíso, with more than 40 years of history. As a soloist, he released his first album in 2013 and currently he performs as “Fernando Charanguito Cuarteto” with Sara Tavera on voice and percussion, Antu Castro on guitar and Lionel Toro on electric bass.
For almost 25 years, he has worked as a musician and teacher in the Dance School of the “Academia de Humanismo Cristiano University'' and the “Danza Espiral Centre” in Santiago de Chile, founded by Joan Jara and Patricio Bunster. He has also composed music for Dance in the cultural center "Balmaceda Arte Joven'', among other works made for dance and theater. In 2021 he officially joined theDance Company Hilo Rojo de Valparaíso as a musician-composer with the original creation of music for the plays 'Viudas del Mar', 'Dedales' and 'Latenncia'.
